GLADSTONE: “Maritime Museum” preserves Maritime and history that has been steadily building before and since Captain James Cook sailed the ”HMAS Endeavour” along the Discovery Coast in 1770 and landed at Round Hill Inlet, before sailing north towards Port Curtis . Thirty two years later, English explorer Matthew Flinders’ circumnavigation of Australia aboard the “HMAS Investigator” put Gladstone firmly on the chart . Prominent features such as Curtis Island, were named by Matthew Flinders, while the well-known Grevillea Banksii was found on Facing Island also named by him. Matthew Flinders discovered and charted our Gladstone Harbour which he named Port Curtis during August 1802. Tour groups and Coaches welcome. Free coffee and tea always available in the Galleyfor all Bus Tours and other guests. A tour will take approximately 1 hour.

GLADSTONE: “Coffee Cruise” formally known as The Gladstone Harbour Cruise, can be booked at the Gladstone Visitor Information Centre, and runs on Wednesdays only. It leaves at 10.40 am for 2 hours. The sights include Auckland Pt Wharves, Marina Basin, Glastone Port, Tug Berth, Barney Point, Alumina Refinery, Boyne Smelter, Harbour Islands and caters for 90 people. Morning tea and informed commentary of Queensland’s largest harbour is provided. General ferry services also available for vehicles and equipment at specific costs.
Hours: 10.30 – 1 pm for Cruise and Ferry Terminal 8 am – 5.30 pm
